These rubber pivot cups sit between your pivot pin and your plate. When you skate your trucks move and your pivot pin moves within the pivot cup of the plate. These rubber pivot cups make sure that your pivot pin doesn't do any damage to your plate because of the friction. Make sure you check your pivot cups regularly, because a worn out pivot cup can make your skates feel out of control.
